Hi guys,
I am gonna share my first experience with moodle. As many of u may be aware of the fact that moodle is a giant CMS package and playing with its code is not an easy task.
In moodle, to save the contents of quiz attempts, I had to make an option. For that I did changes in five files(attempt.php,mod_form.php,defaults.php, config.html and en_utf8)
Autosave option (to save the attempted quiz) is added in mod_from.php so that it could be visible at the time of quiz making and it has some options for time selection (like 5 min, 10 min). From where quiz maker can set the duration of time to save the quiz attempts automatically . In config.html same thing is added for advanced setting .
Default value of autosaveattemps variable is set in default.php file.
Java script coding for automatic save is added in attempt.php file . In this file set value of time is passed as an argument to setInterval() function is taken from database , this code is responsible to save the attempting quiz continuously after specified time interval.
Moodle also facilitates its programmer with some facilities which need to be used only at exact time. while working on moodle if we need to do something pertaining to database, in that case we need to create field only in right table as i did(added only autosaveattempts in mo_quiz table) and not to worrie about insertion and retrieval of data. It gets automatically managed by moodle and ease our work up to a large extent.
One silly mistake which i did and wasted my few hours, was using '<comment> ' comment convention instead of '<comment>' convention, later on i came to know this is not a proper convention for it. Sometime, few silly mistakes lead to generation of unusual problems and ultimately we come to know that its not as small as it seems.
So, if u are also intending to work on moodle, don't be panic, dump urself into the depth of its coding, everything will be easy and moodle will also be giving u a assistant role for ur help.
Hope my this experience would give boldness to them who are about to work on moodle.
Don't be thinker always be a performer.
Lets try....

These are some really great tools! I don't know how many I've actually tried before. Btw, I use imageshack to resize images.Dictionary.com -free dictionary. Yahoo answers-I've learned so much from there already. Just to name a few at least. Thanks again for posting this up. I'll be sure to try them out.
