Hi everyone,
Elimination of poverty to half by 2015 is the first goal of MDG.
I am starting this dicussion, to explore the idea how we youths comefront to eliminate the povery from the globe.
Lets share the ideas, if possible let them be implemented.

we can Elimination poverty through skills , provide technical skills to young peopels , after having a skils ,they can get job and also start their own work ,
we also link to micro finance ,after having skill ,for help to start their own work.

Frens,
Povery is the element which is affected by many themes in total. The social context, economic background, beliefs of society involved as well as the limitation of the opportunities of the target group.
Alleviation does become implemented when the resourceful people do get connectedwith the needs ofthe people involved. Here the needsare the basic needs.
Fromthe times involvement ofover 10 years in the social sectorand the close look of the developemnt ofthese people whom we are talking does get associatedwith getting closer towards achieving theMDGs does bring satisfactory results in the Alleviation of the poverty.
There can be satisfactory change possible when we the youths carry about the voices, start a group in ourcommuniites and work on the themes upon the skills we have.
I do come closer towards ARQ that skills does bring positive results because it gives theme work to live for. thisis one of theelement to reduce poverty.

Thank you very much for your ideas...I too agree with both of you. The basic needs have to fulfilled first and develop the skills in the people.
What do you think the first step to hit the target of the poverty elimination that we can do in a simple form that really counts and matters, that knocks the groups, organisations or at the policy level that are and have been working for the elimination of poverty.

I am feeling very great to read your entry.Obviously,poverty has become one of the main threats in our country and in many rural parts in the world. The youth is the power of change so we, the youth, should act for the achievement of the goal. What we can act is:
*Endorse infrastructural progress by constructing good roads to make transport and communication simple.
*Create employment opportunities by constructing small scale industries to facilitate people get admission on jobs.
*Instruct people regarding how to save resources.
*Promote agriculture and farming which are the main sources of income in our country and other agricultural countries.
*Create opportunities to enable the youth getting jobs though they are not highly payable.
*Reduction on transmission of diseases by providing both preventive measures in order to reduce on money spent to treat this dangerous disease hence poverty will be eradicated.
*Avoid corruption which is the most cause of poverty
*Promote peace and unity in order to avoid political instability. This will attract investors to invest in rural areas.
*Create market opportunities to enable the rural population sell their goods at favorable prices.

We can erase povery from the world if we do our part very well.its in the bible dat it is our duty to help those who are in need.if only those who have the resources that they know that is too much for them can be more compassionate towards the poor,that will make alot of difference.i think money is not the only way to help.we can do volunteer works,sound education,good teachers especially kinds and youths.

As the fight against other diseases increases in the world, we must also not forget to consider poverty as another disease slowly killing thousands of people on daily basis.
The worst of this disease is that its has other so many partners or collaborators that if not attack with serious or strong actions, then the future for this generation and the next generation will be and also remain shaky.
Therefore, in fighting or eliminnating poverty, we must first of all try to weaking its collaborators or partners like currucption, dishonesty, selfishness,
bad governance, dictatorship, social exclusion, discrimination, marginalization and so on to name but a few.
I believe, we cannot in totality eliminate its but that we can reduce its with our collective efforts and solidarity globally.

well... according to poverty problem in this world and the way it decreased during the past 50 years...
i think the best way is not how to find solutions for poverty or eliminate it for the moment... it's by stopping it first... then start decreasing the number of poor people...
first step i guess is to know how to stop being poor
we have two problems
first : the distribution of financial... when 96% of this planet wealth with only 1% of the people i think there should be a better distribution for the money in this world... other wise the problem will still... rich getting richer and poor getting poorer
second : the bad using and uncontrolled of every thing on this planet... that not all people have not even the same amount of their needs
but with this global economic problem... to o eliminate poverty.. is not by giving people money... is to teach them how to use... to aware them more... and that rich countries also should give help them...
we should start to think of how to make people live a normal life not to eliminate the poverty.... so we think in wealth not poorness...
also rich should give charities for poor people... or organization or even the government collect these charities from the rich people...
instead of giving them food... lets create jobs for them... and build a better foundations to increase the amount of money... jobs... and any thing to help poor people

The question we should be asking ourselves is how have we been fighting poverty in the world?
A lot of money are spend on military but how much is the world spedning on tackling poverty
We need to be more realistics and also let those expriencing the pangs of poverty speak for themselves at least they know where the shoe pinches them most

Lets try this out. Visit the rural settlement where poverty is rampant, identify their needs by allowing them speak for themselves. Present these needs before the agencies and organisation involve in development works and see what the result we be.
Actually that is a proejct i am working on right here in Nigeria and is yielding some positive results.
Moreover there is need for us to more responsible and sincere with myself in collaboartion.

Yeah, the person who are engaged in poverty should come in frontline and the tests should be conducted in real scenario....the daring truth is that governments have been expesing billions of dollars for military....in this scenario....the government should be more concious towards it responsibilities...the thing that we can do from our side is the real visit to the field..

build farms, building or any thing... create jobs for them.. help them to create a better foundation not just to give money to poor people... but teach them how to use it..
government should obligate rich people to pay more money to poor people

I totally agree with you Saladin....creating jobs is the foremost thing...also dont give the poor money but its the obligation of everyone to make them use the money in best way!!!
