Are you Pro-Choice?
September 13, 2003 - 04:09 AM

If you are Pro-Choice as well as anti-death penalty, you've got a serious conflict.

That is what abortion is: The death penalty, only worse.

Let's say that John Smith murdered a hundred women in the most vile manner possible.

He would have committed several crimes to become eligible for the death penalty in America.

He would, however, get a full trial, with appeals, averaging an 18 year delay between arrest and sentence.

Then, he would be killed in the most humane manner possible, unless he requested to be shot or hung, in which case, that's his decision.

Abortion is the death penalty for someone who never committed a crime; never gets a trial, and they will be killed in the most inhumane manner possible.

Ripped limb from limb, or chemically scalded to death or the new thing is to poke a hole in the skull and vacuum the brains out.

Is this a position that anyone really wants to defend?

The answer is to protect innocent human life.
September 13, 2003 - 01:37 AM

Are you defending the killing of innocents because the quality of life isn't up to your standard?

By that standard, then every poor person on Earth should be killed to prevent overpopulation and "a whole ton of things", right?

Think about what you say.

Does someone have a lesser right to life if they don't have a quality of life that you have?

Hitler felt the same way.

Handicapped people can't enjoy life, so shoot them.

Retarded people's quality of life isn't the same; shoot them.

Is this what you favor?

BTW, if someone richer than you thought your quailty of life isn't up to their standards, could they kill YOU?

After all, your life isn't worth anything if it doesn't match up to their standards.

The exact same forum and arguments are being debated in another forum right now... see below: http://www.takingitglobal.org/discuss/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3674

This thread is not in the right place either... Abortion can't possibly fall under "Business & Technology Issues"

This thread is now closed.

Of course it's human!
September 13, 2003 - 05:03 AM

If it's not human, please, please, please tell me what species it is!

Think about what you're saying; do you really believe a species change occurs in the womb?

As for being unlawful, slavery was once lawful; did its being legal justify slavery?

And how about addressing my point?

Do you believe in the death penalty?

Yes or no?

Leg?
September 14, 2003 - 12:53 PM

You are playing with definitions; a leg is, indeed a part of your organism, but even a beginning biology class will let you know that a fetus is a complete human organism for that level of its age.

Nice try, though.
