Peace, Conflict & Governance

There have been several disputes between members of the United Nations. One of these issues arose when the United States entered into Iraq without Security Council authorization. Why would the United States do this?

They would do this because my government believes itself to be the savior of humanity, with our "perfect democratic Ideals". Or, is it because we aren't perfect and we don't want to admit it? I believe its the latter, and we need oil, so the result is Iraq...
In my opinion the American public has lost its sense of reality with all of the junk and persuasive advertisement that we are bombarded with daily has disassociated our collective intellect from the rest of the world.
What I mean by this is that we americans can no longer make any judgements on ethical issues regarding the lives of fellow human beings that we coexist with on earth. This is all because we rely on the words of political pundits or religious texts or ideological beliefs to make decisions that ultimately affect the fate of the less fortunate or the less wealthy.
I believe that the majority of americans have lost their sense of independent and conscious decision making, because they never listen to the voice that is within all of us. Now, we are people with lots of ego and lots of guns and money to back it all up. I am not unamerican at all, I am just so fed up with the mentality that has destroyed countless lives all because we are afraid to face the reality of existence, that there has to be vast amounts of material and energy input in the form of resources to sustain the U.S., that is why we invaded Iraq, we need the oil and political leverage in the middle east in order to maintain the fantasy world that the USA has become. I love my country, I am tied to it through ancient Native American heritage, but the problems that are stemming from this unstable see-saw of american politics will unfortunately continue to destroy more people around the world.
p.s.-I don't mean that all americans are sheep, just the ones who refuse to question the ethics and values that are being used to justify death and destruction, just the ones who mindlessly follow political doctrines formulated by people who don't truly hold humane principles in mind when presenting their political agenda. You know who you are...

I think US must leave Iraq, under the able leadership of BArrack Obama, US will have to return their soverignity gradually to Iraq. If not so, the third world war starts from Iraq I think. The US wants to interfere in their home-crisis and then take advantage.
If US do so, as I told aforementioned paragraph. US civillian must not worry.
Good luck.

Well I agree with what you all said, American people lost their sense of directions if I may say that, they are merely just taking in what they are told without thinking about it and even if they did not many will listen, I know that there are people who refuse what is happening, but that doesn't change the fact that it is.
And as I think Barak Obama won't be able to get the soldiers from Iraq even if he wanted to, the thing is with the Economic situation going on if he got back a large number of soldiers suddenly he will have a large number of nonworking people that he still have to pay to or have to provide chances for jobs to, and I don't think he can handle that in anyway.
