Conflict in Iraq

When the US and Great Britain entered the War in Iraq, they did so without the permission of the United Nations Secutity Council. Were these two countries justified in doing that? Were Germany and France right to oppose the two allies?
Please give me your opinion.

The war in Iraq can not be justified because it was based on lies, greed, false pretences and false intelligence. Some of the actions of these super-powers grossly undermined the aim of the UN.

Thank you for your reply. I myself have trouble answering this question because of a moral quandry that I have not yet resolved. While the intentions of Great Britain and the US were based on lies and greed as you say, the eventual result could still be good for the Iraqis. I can see both the positive and negative aspects.Do most of the people in your country feel the same way you do?
