1. What does mental health mean to you?
This is absence of mental disorder and intact cognition and behavior habits.
2. Tell us about what you are doing to make mental health a priority. Are you taking action on this issue personally or politically?
I do plan to address the issue but haven't the chance to do so as yet.
3. Is there any issue in particular you would like to see included in this guide?
- How to deal with stressful situations
- Effects of Drugs as it relates to altering mental health.
4. Are there other questions related to mental health that you would like to pose to the TIG community?
- an update on statistical information as it relates to young people and mental health should be researched and documented. As living in this modern world gets more stressful and social life craves illicit drugs there is more stats needed on how these 'norms' affect mental health among young people.

Mental Health
I think Mental Health is a state of mind where one is in total controle (Awereness) of ones thinking. Awereness of decision making and behavioral changes. This kind of controle is key to ones reaction towards satisfactory and dissatisfactory results ones encounters. This creates room for acceptances and appriciation, which are vital qualities in one being humane and helps you be in alignment with, what is. Mental Health has to do with ones ability to distinguish and taking responsiblilty. Mental health is went you acknowlegde that, be for you reacted you made a dicision to react whether good or not so good. You made that decision. Mental health is also the ability to realise that sometimes we react the way we do because of how we were told one is supposed to react. So when we do react we are acting a part ( like a show, which you are the lead actor in it). It is a total illusion and then after we still defend it at times. Mental Health is when you can distinguish between reality and illsion. Reality (conciousness) being, before a dicision was made careful consideration was made. By careful i don't mean fear but love and respect.
I'm a part of a group called AVPFS (Alternatives to Violence Project Free State) here in South Africa. At the present moment I am trying to get hold of methodology concerning mental Health. I believe incorporating the mental health motholology or program with Alternatives to Violence would be so valuable to our community. What I am doing at the moment in our workshops is for the participants to focus ones emotion and thoughts hence I am totaly in need of a Mental Health Program.
How do I get hold of a Mental Health Program. Is there any Program available which I can attend. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Sadrickl30

It's a psychological Phenomenon

Well, mental health is a psychological phenomenon, if your psychology is not too sound, i believe we have what we can term 'mental insanity'. Also, this psychology can be affected by factors like wellbeing, welfare, social status, educational status e.t.c. So if any of these factors are lacking surely this would lead to mental imbalance.
To proffer solution to restoring this same mental imbalance, these aforementioned factors must be available. people must have good welfare, their social status must be kept, i.e good jobs, well paid jobs, value for qualification e.t.c.
