Three executives at MySpace are leaving the company to form their own startup, led by COO Amit Kapur followed by senior VP of technology Jim Benedetto and and senior VP of product strategy Steve Pearman.
What do you think MySace will be up to siquel to the decision by these three gurus.

MySpace being quite a company full of IT professionals can still deliver, but lets see wat those three guys leaving MySpace would show to the world.

the world of social networking is extremely competitive, they might not be able to stick around for much longer. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- find everything @ www.yourfindit.com

I assume Facebook to be the absolute number one today when it comes to social networks.

They have to come up with something innovative. Not just another social network. It has to offer an original service. That's why myspace took off in the first place, the whole music component distinguished itself from others. I think with a little marketing and that edge, it's possible for their next project to take off.

When it comes to social networks I see things in this manner:
MySpace is primarily for the media industries to promote their services and/or products.
Facebook is primarily for individuals to connect with people they know personally.
Twitter is a great way for individuals/groups to share what they are currently working on through clear and consise updates that they can post from about anywhere. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chantelle Ennis-Charoo

i agree
facebook has certainly placed itself firmly at the top of the list when it comes to a proper social networking site
myspace is full of clutter, i dont need nor want to see a million different backgrounds, flash animations, automatic music playing, half a million photo slides etc...
i dont deny facebook is also full of clutter with useless applications, groups, etc
however, facebook for what it is, retains its simplicity in its format & allows you to ignore many unwanted status/application messages etc
now if only facebook could come up with a better way to police itself to get rid of spammers
thankfully using firefox with some handy plugins i can get rid of the highlights section & some other useless features of the new style facebook
other than that, it still remains my #1 choice for connecting with people when not im'ing
as for twitter, well, it is a status thing, i use it to update my facebook status anyway
so i guess twitter comes in #1 in the hierarchy in that respect
