We've just begun an exciting new initiative funded by the Ontario Ministry of Health Promotion through the University of Toronto's Faculty of Public Health's Youth Voices program. The multicultural component of this Food 4 Health initiative aims to identify the needs of New Canadians regarding Food Security and engage youths and young adults to improve any issues. As well, we hope to facilitate links and productivity between organizations presently involved with New Canadian youths and food systems, thereby optimizing their performance. Through the creation of networks and forums composed of New Canadian youths and community partners, the identification of problematic areas and creation of solutions will be implemented so that New Canadians may acquire safe, nutritionally adequate and personally acceptable foods in a manner that maintains human dignity.
Currently we're looking for New Canadian youth leaders and community partners interested in supporting our initiative. The first phase will take place in about two weeks time as we bring together these two groups and discuss the real world experience of Food Security in southern Ontario.

Alternately, just check out the food4health group right here on TiG!
Best Regards,
Samy
