Recently, I've watched this film in my World Issues class and I was wondering [for the people that have seen the film] What did you think of it? How does it compare to the novel that its based upon?

Though I never read the book, in my opinion this movie was awsome. It really let you get an idea of what was driving Idi Amin to kill all of those people, and you get to experience his physician's point of view. I think that there are some crazy parts in it too that I'd never imagine would ever happen, like when the doctor would the woman all cut up because she was pregnant. It really gives you an eye opener about what it used to be like in Uganda. Great movie.

I really enjoyed the movie, but I would have to agree with you about the book, I am not sure about reading the book, but the movie was a great way to see life in someone else perspective.
