well, terrorism is basically the democratization of war, so the war on terror would probably be states against armed NGOs. I don't think it could get to the point of world war before a majority would vote for a change.

America invented modern warfare during the Civil War. It is fought in a cost effective manner now, you can profit from the sale of arms and munitions, medical supplies and provisions but you can make a real profit from the rebuilding. Your nation will be viewed very negatively when the perspective of history is trained upon it in the future. That is if America doesn't succeed in dragging us all into nuclear oblivion. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andy ehwhiteboy

I don't think I mentioned America, so it seems a bit harsh to use that diatribe as a response.
I do disagree with your comment of course. I mean, the UK conquered half the world, and people still think favorably of it. Under American hegemony, there are no colonies, and the majority of countries are democracies. We're not perfect but we're far from monsters.

No you didn't mention America, but how can the rest of the world ignore American input/interference? I see you chose the old 2 wrongs make a right argument as though what Britain did 70 years ago somehow justifies what America is doing right now. How come your ex vice president is linked to companies that have profited hugely from Iraqi suffering, or how Iraqi oil will be used to compensate America? This isn't a rant against America, it is factual discourse of real world events. Next the Jews will be demanding compensation for the fact that the 400 children they killed in Gaza has traumatised them (to used your skewed logic) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Andy ehwhiteboy

this IS interesting...
perhaps I'll get out of the way before the two sides start to form up behind their barricades and start bombarding each other with philosophical bullets and moral clusterbombs.
OR, you can try to see the world from the other person's view.
your choice

Its interesting how America has managed to errase history off the world's minds, who would believe that back in history Americans were once terrorists in the UK? But the way they are stressing terrorism by the Arabs is way too much, especially punishing even innocent Arabs that are only suspects and thought to look like terrorists. I don't know how a terrorist looks like, anyway i might be wrong maybe they have special features different from normal humans.
But all in all i don't see potential of a world war three, i think we have strong voices around the world and responsible leaders e.g The Queen of Britain, Mr. Obama, Mr. Sacholzy etc. I think the fire can be put off before spreading to the whole world.
