Genetically Modified Seeds influencing Food Prices?

Let me know what you think. Here is an eye-opening article from: http://www.opednews.com/articles/During-a-world-food-crisis-by-Linn-Cohen-Cole-080723-548.html
Here is the major points of the article:
Monsanto = are a chemical corporation which made Agent Orange and after that, PCBs. They also genetically engineer food.
For info on the dangers of GE foods see: http://www.responsibletechnology.org and listen to Jeffrey Smith's lecture
The Institute of Science in Society has this to say about Monsanto: http://www.i-sis.org.uk/IBTCF.php about the Bt-cotton fraud in India while Monsanto claims to have increased yield by 160%. http://www.monsanto.com/biotech-gmo/asp/news.asp?newsId=nr20070917&yr=2007 What do Indian farmers say? Indian farmers call Monsanto's Bt-cotton seeds, the Seeds of Death. http://www.organicconsumers.org/ge/indiacotton012406.cfm
Other problems: http://www.slogefree.org/news07/a-disaster-in-search-of-success-bt-cotton-in
http://www.vanityfair.com/politics/ features/2008/05/monsanto200805
It works like this: Monsanto gets George HW Bush to put one of its employees on the Supreme Court, Clarence Thomas (My note: Clarence Thomas used to be an attorney for Monsanto in the 1970s http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monsanto)
Clarence Thomas also ruled for an extreme extension of the intellectual property laws that allow Monsanto (and other biotech companies) to call their scrambling of DNA, "inventions" and through that, patent them.
And for those who save their own normal seeds? Ask Percy Schmeiser. http://www.cbc.ca/news/viewpoint/vp_omalley/archive/martin990925.html Ask the seed cleaners in Ohio. http://lists..essential.org/upd-discuss/msg00053.html Ask the seed cleaners in the small town of Pilot Grove, Missouri. http://www.newstribune.com/articles/2008/07/11/news_state/173state11patent.txt
Now, maybe the news that Monsanto is raising the price of its GE-corn by $100 a bag will have due significance, since farmers have lost other seed companies, are threatened in saving their own seeds, and thus are left not only with a massive monopoly but one that then through patents, "owns" the farmer.

Kissinger said that if you control food, you control populations. That's what's happening. Fascism is arriving through food. http://www.mindfully.org/GE/2005/Geopolitics-GM-Food6mar05.htm
It's time to pay serious attention.

A great video on BT cotton in India:

A french documentary is also a great resource on Monsanto:

How about Obama having Monsanto lobbyists on his advisor team and also appointing them to key agricultural positions in the executive branch. What about Obama's promise to keep business interests under control so that the little guys are ran over?

That is alarming. I think everyone should be collecting heirloom seeds and learning how to save seed after each harvest for replanting in the spring. A modern day noahs ark for seed diversity maintained by the people instead of the government. Strange feeling of Deja-vu, I recall sending an email today that touched on this topic...
