When does Christianity end?
February 1, 2009 - 07:56 PM
|
|
Hi everyone sorry if I am in the wrong spot for this i couldn't find anywhere else to post it.
I am interested to know when Christianity will end.... its always on my mind by the end of the day.
I am in no way a religious person I have absolutely no beliefs in religion because I honestly do not believe it.
I was stuck in a Christian school when I was younger and really could not have any of the questions I asked of the pastors or higher ups answered and that was what fueled my distrust for religion, to the point - in the bible moses comes down and kills everyone worshiping the bull of the past era/religion/god when do the Christians step aside? are they also in for the same fate? when there time ends can some profit come along and kill the Christians?
Please I am not here to get converted or anything I just want to know what you all think.

i can also be called a atheist(dont belive in religion or god) and i dont think that Christianity will end.i think that the christian religion ill continue to prosper as one of the major religions in this world and i think that people will continue to believe in religion and maybe thats not such a bad thing. i personally think that peole turn to religion and god to explain the amount of things that can't be explained by logic or science. this is coming from someone who doesn't believe in god though, i hope it helps.

But that would mean Christianity is allowed to dismiss its own laws from moving from one age to another!! I do not believe this should be allowed to happen if the Christians could force there rule onto people in the past why cant another new religion pop up and get rid of Christianity in one fell swoop?
If the Christian religion has done this in the past when there age ends they should be pushed aside and no longer listened to and have absolutely no power or say in a coming age.
Am I wrong?
I understand people will go to a religion to have things answered in a generic way and that will some how make them feel better about things but its wrong in my opinion and it fills people with false hope, I think so many things will be accomplished when Christianity ends and the so called pope no longer exists or holds power, the man speaks utter uselessness anyway why do we need it?

What "things" will be accomplished?
The West was founded on Christian beliefs. I think were fortunate to have that happen.
Christianity has had a role defining Western civilization, it should be studied and preserved as part of our cultural heritage, but cultures change everyday, we have the means to improve ourselves and people always need hope.

I know exactly what you are getting at and what you mean.
But it does not feel right, even in the bible it says "I will be with you until the end of the age" or something along those lines, in the King James translation of the bible which almost everyone owns it was been written something like this "I will be with you until the end of time/eon" thats a mistranslation so if Jesus did exist he said that he would be with us until the end of the Age which would mean that he was fully aware that when that time came it would be time for the Christians to find a new faith or move on to something else.
I don't doubt for a second that the religion gives people hope but to me it all sounds like false hope and to scare people into following a set path making people more easy to control.

It doesn't feel right - for you.
I'm not a particular fan of Islam - however it works for some people, same for whatever faith.
Are you sure about that translation?
As some would counter with the final word of Psalm 23: "forever"
How can any form of hope be false?

Thats right, it dosnt feel right to me.
The King James and a few others are full of mistranslations go look it up im not lieing so the last part you talked about is probably a mistranslation also plus the bible was written by so to many people.
How can there not be false hope? if someone is full of hope and it was all one big lie then isnt that false hope?

Hope, by definition is "the feeling that what is wanted can be had or that events will turn out for the best" and because it is that feeling you really cant have a false sense of hope. If you hope for something then you have hope, no matter how slim the actual chances of you realizing your dream (or what you hope for) is, you can still have hope and hope can never be false.

You just want to make it about religion and it doesn't have to be.

What?
I am asking everyone when Christianity will end or weather people think I am correct that it should end and something will take its place either by force or Christianity will step down and the pope no longer be a figure.
If you have a problem mate thats fine say what you want to say and thats it, i do not really care if you think it could be about something else, i came here to get a larger view of my topic.
You can start another thread if you like and take it in another direction.
I would prefer people post here that are going to give myself an interesting point of view.
Thanks for your useless input that time (in my opinion) get it?.

Many Christian Churches are greatly concerned about the ultimate fate of everything in creation. They believe that God has a divine plan for the end of everything.
The technical name for the subject of the end-times is eschatology (from the Greek word eschatos which means last).
Read up on:
Millennialism,Premillennialism, Dispensationalism, Postmillennialism and Amillennialism, The Rapture and The Antichrist.
Christianity will not end nor will Islam or any other faith for that matter. At least not in your or my lifetimes. Why? HOPE & FAITH
The pope is Roman Catholic and leads the oldest institution in the western world.
Some say "it never began, it will never end"
So go find some hope and enjoy life - find your bigger picture and useful input - Clearly you need it.
