I'm a traditionalist, while I believe indigenous language must be encouraged and promoted by all.I speak my local language fluently, read it, even eat it as well. There is nothing like it,it makes you feel good,proud,comfortable....Our cultural heritage must not be washed away, why adopting others.
Above all, there is nothing wrong in speaking other languages, but our individual language must be preserved and respected accordingly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

multilingual education has the potential note "potential" to help a dying cultural minority to die completely, but then that does not mean that if well engineered and implemented it can not bring such cultural minorities to the top it all depends on adaptation to the situation at hand.

multicultural cross refferance could only enhance our understanding while learning from one another better ways in becoming the best of both worlds in tayloring different enhansments needed in our nations culture and lifestyle. In becoming a National Identity rather than seeing ourselfs belonging to tribes.

i think that being multilingual helps people to understand other cultures better and lets them get along better because it is easier to find out more about each other.

Although I do not have a direct answer to your question I would say I think the sun should take its dazzling heat and burn someone else’s sensitive skin elsewhere. Yet I also admit that this is not truly what I want. I love rainy, cloudy days, but where would I be without the sun? Where would any of us be without the sun? Things can’t always be the way that I want, or else I would have no opportunity to experience adversity. And adversity is key in my life. It has played a colossal role in the development of my strong character and work ethic.
As you can tell, the sun in my life is not that big atomic furnace that is under the guise of a yellow dwarf star. It is adversity—challenges and competition, things that keep me working hard.
Ultimately, if the sun is my adversary then I will thrive under the sun. I respect the adversity that I face on a daily basis; I invite it into my life and I grow under its influence. My best friend has always been a fraction of a step behind me, but I respect him nonetheless. He keeps me working hard to be the best that I can be. Yet I also know that the education and challenges that I will face in college will test me even more than have those of high school. I’m prepared to grow to an even greater degree with the coming of this great adversity—to meet and overcome the supergiant that is higher education.Marce Ambit

Logically, it is not supposed to have any negative effect but where there are advantages, there are in most cases, disadvantages too. I dont think it will be of any harm because invariably, nothing is lost!
