gallery - article

has anyone tried uploading to the gallery lately? I haven't been able to the last two times I tried.. I'm going to try the new interface though it seems more personalized.
i also wrote an article but it hasn't shown up on the site yet, and I haven't received any emails concerning it ... How long on average does it take for an article to be read and approved?

I believe that you can upload to the gallery. The moderators haven't been approving work for a long time now, so you may have submitted it twice 
As for articles, I would email editorial@takingitglobal.org and ask them. They know where the article stands on being approved. Sometimes a backlog occurs because of people being on vacation (it is the summer) and so things get pushed back. I would say that it could take up to two weeks to approve since before the article can be approved, it has to be read over and proof read. You should have received and email stating that we had gotten the article. Check to make sure your email address is correct and contact editorial staff to see if they in fact have it.

Is it a problem posting the articles or them being approved? One is a technical matter and the other is a moderator related matter. I will try and post and article right now to make sure it all works. If the article was successfully submitted, then you need to contact editorial@takingitglobal.org regarding any questions in relation to approval.

The Thank You message that you get when you submit images to the Gallery states clearly that staff has to approve of your image before it shows up on the website. Right now at the TIG office the new Gallery has created a tremendous response and as a result the staff coordinating the Gallery are going through some growing pains with the new system.
Approval system is also in place for articles.
Soon your image will apprear however feel free to keep on adding. Within a week everythign will be ok. Thank you for submitting. If you have any further problems it is best to email info@takingitglobal.org or if you have something gallery specific you can email gallery@....

On behalf of the editorial team, we'd just like to say we're sorry for the delay, but with northern hemisphere volunteers on vacation, and southern hemisphere volunteers gearing up for exams, there has developed a substantial backlog.
We're always looking for dedicated volunteers who have time to spare and who are willing and capable of editing and approving articles for the zine. If you're interested, email editorial@takingitglobal.org and include a sample of your own writing ability.
Some articles have duplicate or missing pages since there are a few glitches in the submittal process, but we can usually work through them.
There are also a lot of articles not suitable for publication - either through people not understanding the format of icubed, articles are too short, written like updates etc, and so that slows us down as we try and get to the great stuff!
That, and we are slowly working on developing a new, better version of the zine!
