Andrea, I believe the type of skin colour is something none of us have control over, we never made a choice at the point of conception or creation which colour, race, nationality we should turn out. It is divine. However I dont know the experience you've had about your skin colour as such my response may not actually answer your question. It is no offence to have a different colour of skin, one should be proud of his skin colour and respect others with different colours from his/her. on the other side, human beings have always discriminated against each other on various basis which skin colour is just but one. Even in countries where all persons are of the same skin colour there are issues of discrimination either on the basis of ethnicity, religion, cultural beliefs, political association, social standing etc. In Nigeria we are Negroids of over 250 ethnic groups and speaking over 300 languages but discrimination is still very common. The Norhterners have always dominated the government and see the southerners as inferior, the southners in turn also look the northerners with contempt, the muslims in the north are always at logger heads with their christian brothers, the rulling party members are always at war with other persons who belong to a different political party. There are even neighbouring communities in Nigeria that dont intermarry and sees such as a Taboo(Tiv and Igede tribes). The rich always discriminate against the poor and the list is endless. The point here is that humans always find a thin Line no matter how remote to discriminate against each other. In todays world that has become a global village, discrimination in whatever form should be discouraged and preached against. I am proud to be Black and I love and respect all other persons that are of different colours and will love to have friends that cut across board. Have a nice day and my love to your country Mexico.

The barrier between different skin color or ethnic groups is often more a question of imagination than anything else. For example, where does someone stop being "white" to become "brown" or "black". There is no clear cut. Depending whether you are going north or south, east or west, you will see a slow change in a population's physical traits.
However, from an evolutionary perspective, humans like to create imaginary groups to which we hold on with passion. One day a factor will divide a population in a certain way and another day something else will divide them. Because skin color and ethnicity are easy to observe, it is that much easier for us to create groups and to judge anyone we don't include in that group different or inferior.
All this to say that there really is not difference except maybe for in our imagination.

Well looking at it from a histories perspective yes, however if the jap, blacks and indians are regarded as inferior "then",who then is not inferior? discrimination is a thing of the mind in these present day, however i am not saying it is totally in extinction but i believe there is nothing wrong/crime in having a different color from another person or have you been discriminated against recently or have you been arrested for having a different color

The color of skins can make the discrimination. That is the truth. But it is not a crime. The criminal is not the person who is insulted, but that is the person who makes the insult to others. Colour skin is something very holy that makes us remember where we come from.
I respect your skins and my skin

Why is the difference of skin color even an issue? It's been a hindering factor in global relations for centuries, generations! I, personally am a caucasian American teenager. However, my family is diverse specifically in Brazilian culture, I have Nicaraguan first cousins (at least 7 shades darker than I), my boyfriend is African-American, one of my best friends is Chinese, and my other best friend is a missionary kid from Pakistan.
What is it about the color of someones skin that makes a difference in society? If the purpose of history is to help us understand the mistakes of the past and not repeat them, why do we still have to fight so hard for rights and privileges that should be given freely? --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "The purpose of life is this: To give more than we have, to believe though we have no hope, to love through every pain and sorrow, and lastly to make life a little bit better for everyone else."
