Of course he is not going to solve all the problems of the world, but he may contribute a lot to do it.
Guantanamo Bay closing might be a success to the Human Rights and to help to clean US International Politics scenario.
I hope other countries presidents take the same initiative to help fighting what's bad in the world, not only look to their own bellies.

I totally agree. Obama may not be the answer to ALL the world's problems but he can try to solve some of them. Charity begins at home after all. The closing of Guatanamo Bay will aid the US to avoid appearing hypocritical when it decides to intervene in countries where human rights are disregarded.

Why don't you read the presidential executive order yourself and really determine if closing the GITMO actually is going stop how the US handles enemy combatants?
I mean I can close down a concentration camp, but does that necessarily mean I will stop persecuting the people inside of it?
Think about it...all they are going to do is decide that these people still serve as a threat and will move them to another military location that is more discreet.
I think that its a conflict of interest to have the executive branch be its own review board on the prisoners' treatment in GITMO.
I think this is order was just a show to make him an even bigger celebrity. Beauty is only skin deep here.
