Global Development vs. Cultural and Religious threats
January 20, 2009 - 06:09 PM

The Millennium development goals and other initiatives are set on the table in pro of economical advancement. However, religions and cultures preach a doctrine of 'stay where you are and be conform'...an example of this would be the fight of HIV in Africa, and the religious side of the story which does not encourage the use of condoms under Sharia Law.

What do you guys think? I am religious myself but I think that we live in a progressive world where religions and cultures should adapt in order to give everybody equal opportunities.

Am I right?
