Obama and the American Dream
January 19, 2009 - 03:31 PM
|
|
Barack Obama's inauguration on the 20th of January, 2008 is an event that will go down in history.
The question of the American Dream is one that's as old as the USA itself. How much of this dream, or its' realization does Obama represent? Is he truly an agent of the American Dream, and how might his administration affect the future of the this Dream?

No one person can solve the problems of the world.
No one government can solve the problems of the world.
As President Obama takes on what may be the biggest challenge any President of the USA has ever seen, his call that
“We are one” is being heard around the world.
His message has included the "Call to Service" for each one of us, so that we not only hold government accountable but we do our share in helping create the change that is needed.
Therefore it is not only those within USA but people throughout the world who can contribute.
To this end, ABC4All has created a "Message to OBAMERICA and to a New wOrld." http://ABC4All.net
Respectfully,
Burt / ABC4All

I'm watching while studying for exames :P
I do hope that Obama will bring back the old values that made America so special: everyone, no matter their roots, race culture has the right to a dignified life and to pursuit their happyness.
And that's what US should export, not wars.

I believe President Obama is an amazing person I believe he will make a difference for all Americans, and Canadians alike. I will be very intrigued in how Obama will execute his plans and goals effectively.
I think Obama is a change for America and for the world, for the better.

I too believe he'll make a positive difference in the world, and for Canada. I just hope that if/when he asks that we extend our mission in Afghanistan, Prime Minister Harper says: Thanks for the praise Mr. President, but it's time I brought my combat troops home.
I think in electing Obama Americans demanded better. And his success gives me hope that if we in Canada demand better of our leaders, maybe we can get it too.

The Inaugural Address included excerpts which give direction to anyone in the world. These excerpts have been posted at http://ABC4All.net and are entirely consonant with the Mission, Vision and goals of ABC4All.
The message Obama gives the world is clear. He, alone, the USA alone, cannot solve the world's problems.
Now it will be up to all of us who are receptive to take up the call and to provide the support and the necessary personal involvement (to whatever extent possible and in whatever way(s) possible) that will make the world a better place for all.
Respectfully,
Burt / ABC4All

Obama has just ordered that Guantanamo Bay will be closed within one year!
he has also ordered a review of military trials and a ban of harsh interrogation techniques that many consider to amount to torture!
Steps in the right direction for sure!
put further pressure on this new administration by getting involved
here are two examples: http://www.100dayscampaign.org/
http://obama100days.amnesty.org/

obama is a great man no doubt, he has made history, which is very important. if you watched the inuaguration ceremony and the neighboohhood party in DC featuring all top msic and movie stars and top guest, trust me its every young chaps fantacy, seeing the whole world standing and celebrating you.
what do you see in all this experience? if you follow history! the america presidency isn't o go area for african americans, but seeing a black man change the story, tells me ( you can be what ever you wabt to be) your fantacy can become reality, all you have to do is! (start saying yes to your big dreams) don't limit your self in your mind, every door opens, thats why its called a door...beyond what you see today about obama, believe me 'he had a dream and he pursued it and earned it...people lets do the same...
thanks for being a part of this group.

Mr. President Barack Obama is starting out as King Nebuchadnezzar II King Of Babylonia of a critical political awakening. He will be letting the world know that no matter the forces of domination and oppression,we are accountable for our fate. With healthy self-esteem as our foundation, we shall overcome.

What we all need to know that Obama is the reality to ever come in the American history.
Many blacks have toiled through this path of success all to a mirage.
When God says it is time it would be. Because when it is Gods time No One Can Stop it!
The world is busy about economy of change but God is saying the change is mine. And God will never leave obama except Obama forsakes God. Which i believe he would never do.
As a one universal nation, i would like us all to understand that a change in America today is a change in the world. So let us all continue to pray for the success of America(for Obama) so that TakingITGlobal would be an avenue where the message is spread to all governing nations.
Israel use to be and till now God's own nation, the truce of world peace is only ephemeral in the hand of America.
Believe me as i say to you all, let us continue to pray for the success of America today so that our nations would be greater in terms necessary social needs and Global values.
All hail Obama, the future of tomorrow's Democracy.
