i have come to notice that most youths today have a nonchallant attitude to work. they would rather seat around doing nothing but engaging in self destructive acts and discussions. how can we get these fellow youngsters out of the coulds of death and back into the realm of life

I am sorry you feel this way, and sorry you have only been exposed to youth who fall under these descriptions.
Although I respect your opinion, I could not disagree more. I am a high school teacher and am continuously awestruck by my students. Their ambition, compassion, intelligence, talent and voices have inspired me more than I can articulate.
My sincere hope is that you are able to see the incredible gifts in our youth. You are welcome to look through our classroom (rji.tiged.org/cwi) and see the remarkable young women who have contributed to my stance on this topic. Although we have only been on this site for a few days, it is already apparent that they are interested in a variety of world affairs, and have the incredible ability to continue to make a difference in this world.

I'm going to move this thread to our 'Work and Economics' forum where it is a better fit.
