Google's Human Rights Violations
December 21, 2008 - 01:23 PM

I am saddened of the Tyranny possed by Google Intrnet dominance and its Human Rights Violations from Google's search results to how it treats its users.
I have started a few Face Book groups to point out some infractions.
We Human Rights Activists use Google to spread our words. When our words are suppressed by Google that makes our fight much harder.
Please join these two Face Book groups.

In addition to Google's censorship, Yahoo! and Skype have also been involved in similar projects for users in accessing the net in China. Another case I can think of off the top of my head include Iran's incarceration of bloggers. I'm sure there are many more cases. Developed nations are not immune; a couple weeks ago, I was reading about the Australian government's plan to implement a nation wide internet filter at the ISP level.

Censorship in Japan

In addition to censorship in Australia and in China, unfortunately, freedom of expression is under threat in Japan. The government and some political organisations are trying to regulate the Internet.
Here is some useful information about a censorship bill.

Another site that follows these issues well (from a Canadian perspective) is Michael Geist's blog: www.michaelgeist.ca
Boingboing.net also writes about these issues from time to time.
