pool fund ideas?

My (young) organization is in the process of acquiring a long term loan for the self-help groups in the rural areas that we partner with. We anticipate that the projects will not yield any meaningful profits in the short run for the various groups, it is in this regard that i request for ideas, experiences,proposals, suggestions and references on how to build up a pool fund........etc.... within the grace period given to cater for the lean times when the groups will start repaying the loan.
