A year of action towards the UN-meeting in Copenhagen

Today it´s exactly one year left until the United Nations 15th meeting on Climate Change will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark. That´s where the leaders are supposed to agree on a new declaration around efforts to lower the CO2 emissions. This declaration will begin after the Kyoto protocol ends in 2012.
We young people of the world will grow up in the shadow of the meeting. If they succeed to reach an agreement, we will lead the building of the new green society. And it they can´t reach an agreement we will be the generation that have to face the consequences of that.
So, I believe that we young people have to take an very active role towards this meeting. And I would like to, with the start today, issue a year of action to pressure the delegates to make real progress in Copenhagen.
I think the best step are to take this year and try to involve the climate issue in your everyday life.
We need to make sure who will be the target of our work, it´s the politicians going to the climate meeting in Copenhagen. And we need to stay focused on the objective.
Let´s make 2009 into a year of action in the climate issue, and I hope TIG will be the natural space for discussion, inspiration and tools.
