The essence of being a woman!
August 14, 2003 - 07:26 AM

The role of a woman today was already recognized worldwide in all aspects and levels of life, from politics down to being a simple homemaker. It is said that: What men can do, woman can also do!

The significance of being a woman is being true to yourself, express, explore , appreciate and perform the role of a good mother to your children, a good daughter to your parents, a good friend to your pals/relatives, and most of all a good wife to your beloved husband. Just like behind the success of every man is a woman, the success of a woman is behind her is the man of her life...

Gracias!

Seems like you forgot to mention that each individual has a best part to play. One's weakeness is made up with another's prowess. There is a part where a man can do the best and where and woman can outstand. It is a matter of fitting in!!

I dont exactly agree with the fact that behind a woman's success there is a man behind. A woman can become successful in something that she really wants without a man. Also, in my opinion it is important for a woman to be a good wife to her husband but its not the "most important of all"

I agree with you. I did not say that "most important of all!" what i implied is that also behind the success of a woman is the man of her life.. Just life " the way to a man's heart is to full his stomach." Maybe the culture values also that brings different meaning to it...

While I agree with the fact that women can do anything men can do, isn't it just the same as you described for a man?

"The significance of being a woman is being true to yourself, express, explore , appreciate and perform the role of a good mother to your children, a good daughter to your parents, a good friend to your pals/relatives, and most of all a good wife to your beloved husband."

Is not being a man the same thing? Well with a few moderations for being a good mother (father) and such. To make the best of yourself and strive to achive everything you can as a human being on this planet? To make this place a better place for everyone to live?

So I have to say that being a woman to me, really makes no difference in the fact that I am a women. I can do the same things that men do and men can do the same things that I do.

yap thats true enough! what men can, so we can also do in our own capacity... But! dont you think the most important gift given to us is concieving a child... Science cannot do that, so we are still up ahead to our counterparts! This is also one of trans disadvantages. Though, i see the humanistic belief that man can concieve his own meaning, which happens to be by happiness itself.

I also want to congratulate all women of the world for just being themselves.

Life is difficult by nature already, but difficulty of living for women is 20 % +. Thats why it is great joy for me to see women finally taking a stand for thmselves.

Nobody can give you what you want only it is you who can give it to yourself. We, men are here actually to listen without opinions etc.

Men:
Dont celebrate this day today .... celebrate it round the year. As it is for me personally you have my continous support, and it is not questionable 1.

Chances are all around, but they must be seized first.

International Womens Day!

I was happy that i am a woman in the living in a modern world. It gives me the importancy that the ESSENCE OF BEING A WOMAN are now recognized in all aspects of our society.

From political, social, spiritual, we ahve this place in our society now. Many ngo's is helping women's health and social status are the foundation for political stability, sustainable development, the stabilization of population growth, and the health of children and families. It established that women who are educated and healthy, who are not living in poverty, and who have political and legal rights will want to have fewer children, and will be better able to care for the children they do have. Develpoed countries is concerned with all our riths and wer are happy with the results that we are recieving internationally with our rights.

I can add to that, maybe its our involvement to the society that gives us the voice we wanted to bring it to everybody and our rights will be given importance then.

Thanks to all for giving us the importancy!

Gracias!

Women represent 50 % of entire humanity. That is decisive fact and cannot be ignored (if we talk about ppl with active brain).

Any sucessfull society must acknowledge that percentage to the utmost.

As women are not physically strong as men, until recently that fact cost them all sorts of rights. (in most of the world still is).

Not until recently ppl were convinced that most important is to have strong muscles, high IQ is just a folklore. That very wrong idea was of course against equality of women.

After we acknowledged intelligence as most important, now we have the field on which all odds are equal. In fact the most intelligent Homo Sapiens on this planet (highest iq) is woman.

Few problems contesting that is the unwillingness of men to share power in changed circumstances. They cling (why not, nobody wants to let go control) to old system based on physical strenght.

Truth is that now it is also more "weight" to carry for women too. Consequence of progress. But this is still better to go to work and do whole lots of things than sitting in a cave to wait for ur caveman hubby to bring home a deer he just killed by throwing stones.

I wish to continue this talk further. If u think i am weird, not be i am only bound by certain philosophy which says everything is interconnected and so on. Thats why i cannot let half of society live badly than other half, since this is society i am a part of. And society is a unit.

I was having fun on another forum with a woman who posted:

We women demand!
The right to be superwoman!
The right to be weak!
The right to yes/no wear a headscarf :?

Let's just demand the right to enjoy ourselves.

I think the true measure of a women is not to compare herself to others and to simply be the best individual she can be whatever choice she makes, be it career , mother or childless.

My support is unconditioned, countinous and persistant. And in my name i call on fellow men - which r reading this post - to direct their efforts towards helping women - in any way they are able.

One of best solutions is that wherever there is a decision making association - parliament, etc religious community, that women held 50 % of membership - guaranteed. And with full legal equality.

In this context i pronounce Iraqi temporar constitution invalid and non-binding for anybody which follows fairness.

Women's right should be upheld.
March 16, 2004 - 12:05 PM

The need for women's right to be upheld cannot be over emphasized. This is so because all over the world, people have seen those areas where their lives have been put in jeopardy just because of culture, religion, and some other social factors.
Women should be regarded as equal to men because they have always been a greater assistance to men in eeverything about life.
I believe that if women's right are upheld, some maltreatments will be abolished in the face of the earth.
We really count on the support of our men to achieve this.
Gold.

what makes a womyn a womyn?
March 19, 2004 - 04:00 AM

is it my genitals? what's between my ears?

gender stereotypes are oppressive...

all i know for sure is that it's certainly not "my man" that makes me a womyn. they've been trying to feed me that line for years now!

hehe.

elle.

(wanted this post to be a critique of gender but is so distracted by work right now........................ )
