I really think it depends on what kind of manga you're reading.
Some provide a good insight into human nature and encourage intellectual thought.
Others are purely for entertainment and there are some which you would hope no one would really "learn" from.
E.g. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
Elfen Lied

Interesting question! For me personally, the TV show Sailor Moon has taught me about not being shy and becoming the leader your peers & family need you to be, and also to believe in yourself.
That other show, Dragon Ball Z, has taught me that good always prevails over evil, despite what challenges you may face. Also it displays the value of hard work and then positive outcomes that come from that.
Lastly, the TV show Pokemon, has taught me that practice and persistence is a great way to achieve your goals, no matter how hard they may seem.

I love Manga, I personally enjoy watching anime such as Inu Yasha, Naruto, Deathnote, Sailor Moon, Eureka 7 and so on, I really enjoy reading Manga as well, its an extension of Anime and goes more in depth. I learned that you can express your feelings on paper and audio or in books such as Manga, I learned how to draw from Manga as well...and I really want to go into the Journalism program at Ryerson, and Manga was a huge influence for me.

I don't watch/read that much anime/manga, but I am a huge Death Note fan as well. (as a matter of fact, me and my friends are cosplaying as Death Note characters for a con soon)
Hmm...I'd say that it's made me think about what constitutes "good" actions. After all, Light thinks he's doing the right thing by killing off all those criminals, and such. So the big question is, is it right to kill people in the name of "goodness" or "justice"?

I've read so many kind of manga : shoujo manga, shounen manga, kodomo manga, josei manga... There're too many good manga, it'd made my characters nowadays. I've learnt from Naruto how to believe in myself, never give up, how to keep a friendship...I've learnt from Nana the meaning of life, of love, of friendship...I've learnt from Inuyasha, Maruko chan, Hana kimi, Hana yori dango, C.C.Sakura, XxxHolic, X1999, Hot Gimmic...how to be a kind woman with a warm heart...Manga is so important to me.

It sounds like Light is like a Vigilante. I really like Light though

Yeah, even though I know they're doing the wrong things, my favorite two characters in Death Note are Light and Mikami.

I grew up with Manga and anime, and without I would of not learned some of the life lessons which have made me the person I am today. I believe you are so right how manga teaches you new things and helps you and become a better person.

Yes I would agree on those characters as well, they are my favorite characters. I believe those two characters make Deathnote so interesting, have you seen the movie? I haven't but I really would like to see it

Nope, I haven't seen it, but it looks pretty cool.
And I have to say, probably the worst part of the show was when Light forgot about the Death Note and turned "good."

Yes, Light kept me on my toes, but when he just turned good, it kind of killed the show. Do you agree?

Yeah, definitely. The best part was between L's introduction and Light's memory loss. And the later parts with Near aren't as exciting as with L.

Yes Where did you watch Deathnote from? I watched it on YTV, but I can't watch it off that channel because I never watch tv off that channel anymore.

I actually watched it online, on anime-media.com
Unfortunately, online quality isn't that good.
