Its no so easy to convert sea water into freash water.
(you remind me of one of the 10 vardan (blessings) ravana had asked from lord shiva. hindu mythology)
The quantity required is so large that its not feasible atleast not as of today.
the only best way is to conserve the water that reaches us.
One major factor that we must consider though is the technology needed.
in india we are talking of connecting all our rivers (water grid) so that water can be distributed in the country properly. But its a mammoth task. But they say america has so much technology they can dig a hole right through the centre of the earth and steal our water. (just a joke).

Thanks!!
Hm, strange that human could made spaceships and many more... but can not made water!?
I heard that 'we' already have personal instruments which could make the sea water to drinking water; I think US army soldiers have it?
and if it is so; why are so many people without drinking water? ;we could just transport water from the sea to
the districts where there is no water?
Money??
Is it money or is it something else??

Water cannot really be made. It is a valuable resource, and comes from the environment. 3% of the worlds water is fresh water and 1.5% of that is locked in Antarctica. It cannot be made. It needs to be used wisely.
