[Poll] Should the ALCOHOL AGE limit be lowered?

Personally i believe that the alcohol age limit should be 18. not just because i would be able to legally allowed to drink but because 21 is just to old. i heard rumors about how a bunch of college presidents were getting together and fighting for the legal age to be reduced. how can we be trusted to go to war to fight and die for our country when we can not be trusted with simple alcohol? it just doesn't make sense. do u think the age limit should be lowered or kept at 21?
Keep the alcohol age limit. There are 2 options for yes and no because i am curious to people's views
Lower it! I want to get wasted!!
(1 votes for 8.33%)
Lower it because it just should be
(5 votes for 41.67%)
Hell no keep it 21. Kids can't be trusted that young
(4 votes for 33.33%)
It simply should just be 21
(2 votes for 16.67%)

Though low consumption of alcohol has been believed to have some benefits, in general alcohol intoxication affects the brain, causing slurred speech, clumsiness, and delayed reflexes...
We need to guide the youth towards peace, harmony etc. Not by allowing them to drink too early and waste their teen age...
It is okay to keep at 21!

Here in Aus its 18, heaps better than the 21 years of age, I think 18 is perfect it goes well in hand with access to clubs and porn haha jk
Nah 21 is to old I think, that is when you have to really start thinking about your future like crazy, who wants to get trashed on life desision time at least when your 18 you get the whole legal drinking out of the way and its not a hassle and you dont really think its that awesome when you hit 21 its just another slab of beer haha
I say enjoy the teen years with whatever booze you want while you can and have as much fun as possible.

In my country the age limit is 18. However, I think that Age doesn't matter in the consumption of alcohol, rather i think a sense of maturity should be obtained in the consumption of alcohol. This maturity and sense of moderation should be a preriquisite for alcohol intake. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Obilom K.C.

I'm gonna have to agree with the mass amount of people saying 18 and for a good amount of reasons.
Ive seen countless examples of people being sheltered from an extremely obtainable product despite their age and that has led to terrible experiences for these people. How many people know someone who didn't seriously get introduced to alcohol until late teen and ended up overdoing it? (stomach pumps, alcohol poisoning, drunk tank etc.)
How many 17 year olds make it into the bar even though Canadian bouncers ask for 2 pieces of id sometimes? People will drink it and that's fact of life we have had to realize considering prohibition didn't work. So approaching the situation logically would be to accept it and ease alcohol into a young person life. At least that way if a kid decided to drink they can most likely do it in the comfort of their own home possibly with their parents near by.
If we look at examples of other countries it may become more clear.
Canada : 19
U.S : 21
Australia: 18
Italy: 14
Holland: 14
If your concerned about health you could take a lesson from Canada and tax the substance heavily to discourage financially the over indulgence as well as create a pool of money that could be invested in health care.
It was also mentioned that at 21 you should be focusing on your future. I agree with this in the sense that as a teen you have slightly less responsibility and you are able to experiment without completely messing up a situation with a job or University.
Finally, when people have access to alcohol there will always be a small percentage of, for the sake of being politically correct, people that can't control their alcohol intake. This percentage should not be what influences the policies governing those who can control themselves (the majority). Instead they can be dealt with in other ways.
Cheers --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- All The Best,
Stu

I'd say to lower it. However, it should be consistent with the nation's/country's laws.
In Australia:
- You're old enough to drive.
- You're old enough to vote.
- You're old enough to live alone.
- You're old enough to own property.
Actually... simply put:
- At 18 you're considered an "adult" legally.
So, if you're old enough for all those things, you should be old enough to drink alcohol.
At this stage, you'd expect people to have the maturity to be aware and accept the consequences of their own actions.
