Every Time You Use Water

Everyday in Africa, many people, particularly women, have to walk for miles to get water. The chore of fetching water is no small task, it involves walking sometimes up to 10 miles to the nearest water source, and carrying home the heavy containers filled with the day’s supply of water. This often takes up a big part of a woman’s day, and even then the water source is not always a safe one. It might be scooped from a dirty pool; unclean and containing parasites or dangerous bacteria.

I believe we can all contribute one way the other to satisfy the needs of so many less privileged people in the world, especially in the Africa continent. I urge the world leaders to take note of this important issue of water that is taking lives day in day out due to purity.
Please, rise up to defend the peoples cry for water, and the hopeless for they shall see hope for a better tomorrow. “One world one hope one people”

Lack of water supply was sometime a problem in some communities in Nigeria, but the story is slightly different now.
I know its still happening in other locations, but we have to be specific about where the problem still persist so advocacy can be directed.
I see the positive change coming gradually to Africa, though, we have not really feel the impact of foreign aid spent on the continent.
Not only Africa, the case of unclean water is also a problem in some Asian countries.

We must work hard to make sure that water for all is achieved by 2020. Tell me, what could be done without water?

It's so terible to here this. I'd think there might be a need for the water program to set up there. We need the real statistic on the water user groups and the individual to set up this programs.

I understand the points above, however I would like to redirect this discussion to the water supply in the UK and the US.
My main concern is the use of Flouride in the tap water supply in the UK and the US. The government state it is a good step forward as it will prevent tooth decay in young children in poorer areas. But Flouride isn't supposed to be consumed, when we brush our teeth we are instructed to spit the toothpaste out so why is the Government instructing us to swallow it? Flouride causes bone cancer in young boys and can also affect the brain cells!!
What do others think of this so called step forward?

People should also be made to realize the importance of water. Water pumping and piping will lead to greater availability of water. It is also necessary to cut the losses from origin to destination.

Governments can do a lot more by spending money on infrastructure instead of weapons. As citizens, we need to raise our expectations of what we ask our governments to do. As individuals, we can support the projects that we think are important. When people work together they can accomplish a lot.

Water is life. But water can sometimes lead to death whan it is not clean. Most of the many deaseases we have in Africa is the result of unclean water.
But the graet problem in our continent is not water, nor war, nor malaria or any other problem. The problem in Africa is bad leadership and as a famous writer put it "Our chives, they have tongues, they have bellies, but brain they dont have"
If our leaders in africa decide to do something, then something important will be done to bring a relief to the people.
Lack of water takes thousands of lives in Africa, may it be directly or not. So instead of focusing on such problems as malaria, typhoid fever, I think we should raise the leaders and people's awareness of this key problem, for i think solving this equation will be major step forward ine the struggle against poverty and these aforementionned deseases.
Every body can start action by first stopping to waste water for those who can acess it easely, and advocating for the others.
LACK OF WATER IS KILLING OUR FELLOW BROTHERS JUST OVER THERE!!! SO STAND UP AND SAY NO!!!!!!!
i love you all
