Kenya is hoping that by implanting mobile phone cards in the animals’ collars, the government will be able to protect both elephant and human populations.

Texting is going to help. There used to be conflicts of rage and trampling by the by the elephants in the nearby Areas.
The same technology should be used by the Rangers to keep Lions away from eating and injuring animals and civilians.It is best to keep all parties use the same resources without conflicts.
The only way we can use the technology is to understand that the nearby tribes are affected by the roaming animals for their safety and livelihood. The new paradigm of range management is to increase the numbers of animals for ecotourism

Well, if this tech applied in India helps farmers know that elephants are coming, I think it'll prevent unwanted elephant deaths.

I think this is a great idea. Humans clearly aren't very good at sharing with animals and if we can find some method of compromise it will benefit all parties concerned.

Nobody should have to die, animal or human.

I agree to. i play the piano and my teacher made me play on a piano were the keys were made out of elephant husks!
