Two questions for travellers: What can I learn? and What can I offer?

I have been travelling the world for 50 years and I am a member of multi-national and multi-cultural family (including myself, my wife and our three children we have 4 different nationalities - my mother and father also had different nationalities). I believe the most important thing to keep in mind when travelling for any reason is that no matter what your national, cultural and educational background, you are just as valuable as anyone you meet and you always have something to offer the people of your travel destination just as they always have something to offer you.
If we can get past looking at the percieved advantages and disadvantages of being from a particular place or moving to another particular place, we would find that all of us are on the same planet and only by working together will we ever hope to make that planet a better place for all our Grandchildren. Technology has now advanced to a point where we can share ideas and dreams in real time with friends and associates all over the world and thanks to virtual places like TIG there are formats to foster the sharing and understanding that will be required to grow from a planet of seperate nations to a diverse and multi-cultural world working with and learning from one another.
