Nationalism
August 2, 2003 - 02:15 AM

everyone hangs to his/her nationality. how far is this attitude right? isn't it better to hang to our humanity? aren't we all humans after all? isn't nationality a main cause for racism and discrimination? but on the other hand, isn't nationalism what protects our cultures and civilizations against humanitarian globalization?

Nationalism can inspire some tension and rivalry between countries. It also leaves room to harbor hate. Nationalism can be good, if it inspires you to be proud, but mostly it inspire a standard, that you are better than other people in other countries living in different circumstances. The key is not o judge. No matter what, you have to look at each person individually, and I had to learn that the hard way. Generaliztion is not a good thing, and it can lead to as many problems as nationalism.
