Ideas for Dec 7th
October 3, 2008 - 07:59 PM

hey guys, I was just wondering if you guys had any ideas for December 7th-- youth action day with climate change.
We're throwing ideas around of some activities to do in New Brunswick, and I was hoping you guys could help me!

Peace and love,

Meg

btw....thx for reminding me about this Meg

I remembered in Indonesia, last year, we celebrated this by turn off all electronic useless things.
so, in one day we can save how many kilo watt energy

yah....just do simple things like turn off lamp when afternoon, turn off AC, fan, and a lot things.

or maybe we can try for the next....walking without slipper and hat...so we feel hot and understand how to be in hot climate

^_^

smileYou have very good, helpful ideas, yes here in Australia, not only the Youths, turned all the lights off,but all the big Corporations,Gov got involved behind all the youths, even the light of our Sydney Harbour Bridge was turned off,I love your suggestion,to walk barefeet,in the heat,so we all get 2 feel what it's like 2 B too Hot!!! U R obviously a very intelligent & passionately caring young Leader 2 B.U make me feel Proud that there R such as yourself,so many youths, prepared to take a stand;after all U R the ones whom R left with this great Mess,Not a nice Legacy eh,I love the sense of Humour U also bring to TIG.

smile Thanx Meg 4 reminding me also, I think turning off all electrical appliances is a good Idea, what about something like we have here in Australia-not 4 Youth action with thene of Global Warming, but could B so,here every year our Youths, spend 24 Hours, without food,Committ 2 go hungry, towards raising awareness,of those whom do not have enough 2 eat around the World.Done via a giant youth Organised Sleep Over,PJs & Sleeping Bags,U don't actually have 2 starve yourself 4 24 hours, there R the Red Cross & others 2 make sure,U R fed something,But in similar vein of those starving,U know,Rice,Soups,& make sure enough flkuid is taken as it gets 2 40% or higher heat here in Australia,we have been in severe droubt for over 40yrs,many countries around the globe thing Australia has an over Abundance of water-not so,we R rather in a direly desperate state, have very strict water Restrictions, our dams R only a small trickle & we can no-longer B assurred of safe fresh drinking water ourselves.Besides all this,Perhaps You all could have an overnight sleep in,with Media write up as to why U R doing it,Not only have no lights, but no cooling,or warmpth,Kinda rough it,Dare 2 show Canada & the rest of the world just how passionately U all feel about Global Warming.I,ll work on thinking up other Ideas 4 U ok,
Sincerely Yours,
Shi-a-ra Mi-So

smileHow R U going 4 ideas? need anyother,s. U can get a very good Slide show from World Wildlife-ther is a Photoghropher whom spent yrs philming 4 them what our world woud truly B like if too-hot & no-water,sorry been too long since I looked them up,forgot his name, but his slide-show is so very Powerful in getting the point across,I,ll ask them 4 some ideas,as they don,t only focus on Animals, they focus upon All of it,everything effecting our world.
U could really do quit a lot in this theme really, the polar-caps R melting at an arlarming rate, all the major Islands directly within this wake are actually under-water,crying out 2 B helped,as they R drowning!
Wish I could B over ther with U,work together, with my Artwork I could creat great back-drop themes re:- Global Warming,& help U with getting it orginased & publish of event ect: big grin

i think we are going to do a famine! as well as some other activities province wide. hopefully i will be successful in getting individuals to reduce their electricity consumption as well, and i will do several presentations on climate change around the province/ in my area.

Thanks for all the great ideas guys, if you have any more let me know!
