Seems no free and fair elections in Zambia 2008
October 1, 2008 - 03:43 AM

Since Late President Mwanawasa died, oppositions have been fighting each other who will continue the Legacy the late president left. Come 30th October election day - who will lead us peacefully?

We miss the late president, he died on duty. MHSRIP.

Free and fair elections are contextual it depends whose favour the results are.

I have seen that whoever loses an election cries foul.

So i would say dont think about free and fair but bloodless.

free and fair elections are a myth of our time.

Davy

We had free and fair elections in 2005 and are hoping for the same thing in 2009 and heck even the palestinians under occupation had free and fair elections accepted by all palestinians, so its wrong to generalise elections everywhere just because you are unfortunate enough to live under dictatorships.

Tell that to Sata the man who cried foul after being defeated by Mwanawasa.

When Hamas came to power what was the response of the Americans?

The Iraqis voted under gunpoint but we are told their elections were free and fair!

The free and fairness of elections is a matter of opinion. Those who lose and their masters always complain of vote rigging and those who win will tell you the people have spoken.

Al Gore also cried foul in 2000. So has many others who have lost elections.

Your opinion is shaped by the media and we all know they just regagitate what their owners want.

Which country did you say had free and fair elections in 2005?

Again i say free and fair election is a myth of our time justb like free media is.

Davy

Your soo naive your just upset that you have never had free and fair elections in zimbabwe and think the whole world has never had it also.

1. It doesnt matter what the USA said about the Palestinian elections they only cried because a party who is against the occupation and American Hegemony won, all the palestinian people and factions be they pro western or anti western accepted the results as fair and square no one in occupied palestine cried faul and my opinion is not based on Media unlike yours especially bringing the USA into the elections of Palestine.

2. The Iraqies yeah perhaps they did vote under the gun but who's gun was it if I may ask you davy ohh great leader of fair elections.

3. Lebanon has been the cradle of democracy in the Middle East and we had free and fair elections in 2005.

4. If Al gore got cheated in an election wooow are you serious isnt the USA according to your first comment about the palestinian election the cradle of the free world and elections blah blah blah and there is vote rigging there oohhh my god then surely that means all elections around the world are fake.

5. Would you call the elections in Zimbabwe free and fair and what do you think of Mugabe?

You just showed how closed minded you are by declaring all elections around the world as not free and not fair why.

I repeat what i said before ELECTION BEING FREE AND FAIR IS A MATTER OF OPINION! Thats why the observers say "in our opinion....."And if this is declaring all elections around the world not free and fair then i just did that.
What i have see and its true most of the people who lose elections will always cry foul quiet a few individuals will accept results gracefully.

Its not like Zim never had free and fair election the March 29 for example was said to be free and fair.

what is the basis of declaring an elecion free and fair and who does that?
If elections where people voted under gun are free and fair then which elections are not.Guns instills fear and the American and her axis of evil instilled fear in the iraq people and they voted for the american backed candidate. Is that fair?
I see you have just swallowed everythng the media and i dont blame you it just shows how the fourth estate as brainwashed you.

And for your own information i support Mugabe's priciples on the land and indeginisation and i don't apologise for it.

You support a tyrant like Mugabe and then tell me am brainwashed?

My friend it seems your bitter that you have never had the luctury of a free and fair election and are trying to discredit the fair elections of other nations.

You still have not commented on the free and fair elections in Palestine or Lebanon, how abouts the ones in Ireland or the ones in Brazil and so on and so forth.

I think its you that has been taken aback from the Mugabe mouth piece TV and its a shame that you have no courage to stand up to it ah well maybe you need to come to Lebanon and palestine and learn what standing up against ethnic cleansing and hegemony is all about.

All the best Abi and i still believe free and fair election is a myth of our time.

keep us posted.

Thanx dkaiyo for wishing my country all the best.

As for Sata, is a difficult person and what you have written is true and that's what he is planing to do - all Sata wants is violence in Zambia.

Will keep updating you.

now that the elections have come and gone.
Sata is crying foul he lost the election by just above 35 000 votes and like what is becoming a norm in Africa H E Banda was sworn in after only two hours after the announcement and i was in th evening to make matters worse!
Can this Banda have the moral authority of condemning Mugabe? Allegation of
Voting stealing, buying rigging are flying all over the place. And Sata is saying these elections were not free and fair. What do you think?
will i be blamed to say free and fair election are a myth of our time especially in Africa!
