Somewhat. If you look back in history especially since globalization, fluctuations are to be expected -its an economic cycle. the markets will either correct themselves or they will crash.
But with the current situation, most of it was mad made.

It was triggered by the American banks getting greedy and going a bit crazy with the loans -they gave loans to many people to buy houses without checking whether the loans could be paid back. Then most of the people began to default on their loans and the banks lost a lot of money resulting in a credit crunch. Since America is s super power the whole world was affected becoz ppl all over had invested in their economy. Its quite interesting really - that's the way i see it, but business news will explain it much better!

I believe that the fluctuations of the world market correlate with the fluctuations in the United States market. The US is one of the largest importers in the world, if the US doesn't buy as many goods, those countries won't produce as much.Therefore, it is a cause and effect relationship.
