Actually, I'm on the way to implement a sexual education programme for adolescents from 11 to 17 years old on a social assistance institution.

I'm analyzing variables as sexual behavior, decision making, attitudes, knowledge of contraceptives and STIs, etcetera. But, I'll consider then, a few according to the diagnosis, the time and resources availability, the context and the evaluation of the impact.

Latinamerica favors the prevalence of stigmatization and false beliefs because of myths and the media advertising. During the past decades, one of the main reasons for ignorance was the moral doctrine started by religion figures.

Sexual Education is very important for the youth, as they are most active sexually. Sexual Education is helping in terms of removing negative thoughts to the youth and decreasing the involvment to sexual intercourse. So we should intencify the Educational Programs in our areas.

Mafer!

I like you take on the subject, that is you are actually taking action to redress this problem which in my veiw is a socio-economic problem, which all responsible parties are folding arms and watching what going to happen next!

Our youth are missing the spot and we continue yo see them caught up in very messy situations.

I have adopted a tennis club in an informal settlement and teac these kids from 9 to 17 yrs and I have realized they need more than tennis lessons to survive.

please share your programme with me so that we can help the needy where possible.

Wish you success in your quest to educate

regards

I think as we get older, we forget what it was like at that age, the thoughts/feelings/pressures associated with it, and are scandalized as adults to think of someone that young associated with sex. Also, many choose to blame the lack of morals instead of lack of education. 1st. I think sex education needs to start at the age of 9, this will encompass the early bloomers and start the education before its an issue, a prevention measure. 2nd. I think youth need support groups so that they don't look for sex as means of emotional support and give them more mentors to go to with questions if their guardians are not helpful. 3rd. I think parents should have the same sex education classes, with the options for anonymous questions as well. Parents can't council their kids if they are misinformed. 4th. Birthcontrol! I would rather buy the condoms for my own youth someday then have them go behind my back due to lack of support and have unprotected sex. 5th. Drop sexual stereotypes. If girls are told they are derogatory names if they are not a virgin, then they will be less likely to report rape/sexual abuse.
