[Poll] Role of youth in bridging the digital divide in Africa

hi all i have been previlledged to be part of two conferences organised by the Commonwealth telecommunication organisation CTO hosted by the ministry of information in the host countries. This has really opened my eye to the fact that we need to get involved. Technology is changing too fast and we here in africa can not be left behind, besides we are the most users in african countries especially in the mobile sector. I would really like to read some of your contributions on what the youth could do where ICT is concern.
Do you think the youth should be concern with the issues of ICT in their individual countries?

Obviously, African youth must rise to bridge the digital divide we are currently experiencing. A young boy in high school in Africa cannot compare himself with his counterpart in China.
Mostly, our government in Africa should also shun grabbing our funds to heap in banks abroad but instead should use it to better the ICT sector for young people to thrive.
India would ever remain on top because the government saw the need to invest and today everyone must make mention of India when talking of ICT.

Youths of Africa must get involve, if we do not want to be left out of this era or become information consurmers only. But reality is that the gap between the inform and the yet to be inform is wide her in Africa. We must start to put presure on our leaders to create the enviroment and the political will to allowed the youths to explore and contribute positively in matters of our future ahead before we are totaly left out of the knowledge economy development
