[Poll] Do you prefer to learn through Practicals or Theory?

In many countries you will come to learn that not each and every individual is Literate. Some people might be illiterate although they earn their source of living through various skills which do not require skill and competence.
We tend to find that somebody might be good when it comes to jobs demanding much more of Theory(paperwork) than in Practicals(applied) Most learned fellaz who atleast attain basic education and end up going to pursue their careers in Varsities are capable of having the right fundamentals/papers to secure jobs in the industrial sector despite that one still has to tarmac and must know people who now know other people and get strings attached so as to secure a job.
To hit the nail by the head.Do you really believe that someone can attain much through directly applying practicals or through application through paperwork inform of Theory? Which is more appealing?
Do you learn through Practicals or Theory?
Practicals
(2 votes for 20%)
Theory
(1 votes for 10%)
Both
(6 votes for 60%)
None of the above
(0 votes for 0%)

for me, i choose both of them.
practical and theorycal same important to learn something.
according to my next job of being doctor, i couldnt examine patients just by theorycal lesson also. I need practical learning or we call as Co-Assistant of doctor before we really being doctor.
But....for enter cleckrship, we need to leran theorycal lesson first.
so...both of them is important ^_^
and i remember one ting also...
practical and theorycal like hard skill and soft skill.
both of them needed to all aspects
thx for sharing brian

I was attempt to apply theories, as much I could do on, but I feel something, which is, theory was invented by someone who has my mind, I argue my self to invent my own theory and practice it. Mostly on our life, we were learning theories and turn them into practical fields of life.
But, keep in mind, human being has same mind, but, the way you applied you’re intelligent and the power within your mind is very difficult to understand that. I how many times, did you do something unbelievable and wonderful and then ask yourself “how could I do that?”
So we need to learn how to generate mind power.

I don't mind the style of learning as long as the topic in question is interesting and relevant to me and my plans. Becoz if the topic is boring,it doesn't matter how you try to teach it -av been there!:

Dear Brian,
I think it can't be argued that both of them are necessary. For many reasons that TIGers have listed previously.
But for myself, i think i prefer Practice. Maybe I'm a more applicable one.
So in my opinion, everyone knows that they should balance between both. But most people found themselves tending to one side only.

wow..nice topic..
erm, personally, for me,i prefer both.. because our brain can accept and memorise facts for a couple of days only through theory.. and if we put that theory into practical, that facts will last longer in our brain..
learning through experience leave us to remember what we had learnt until forever... ^_^ rite??
