After Youth

With a lot of understandable excitement surrounding the youth movement, I have been inspired for the first time in a while to think about what comes next. I mean where do we go and what do we do when the day comes where we can no longer call ourselves youth? Will we create a 'middle-age movement'?
Personally, I think that many of us will be involved in high-level politics and high-level corporate activity. I personally wouldn't mind eiter.
Tell me what you all think.
Regards,
Luke

hehe, interesting thought. i guess i'll try personally to continue to be involved in things that seem useful and likely to have some sort of positive impact. thats important to me.
for now i am involved in youth activities not only because I am young (which I agree is part of the motivation) but also from a purely professional perspective because I believe that young people are a hugely undertapped resource that if supported can be a huge asset for community development. So maybe in 20 years I'll still be 'youth friendly'. Maybe from within a different role... the fun thing about life is that the twists and turns are unexpected.

I don't think what we're doing as youth and as "middle-age" are mutually exclusive. The kinds of projects for change we are initiating and working on will continue all our lives. The end goal will not change, just our own demographic. You can also stay very involved in youth initiative as a mentor, funder, advisor or participant, even if you are no longer technically youth.
Personally, I hope we don't just become involved in high level corporate activitiy and politics. I hope we stay close to our ideals for change on a grassroots level as well, or at least hold on to our ideals once in these grande positions.
Its more about principles than age. The principles of the Youth movement can continue all your life.
