I really like this concept.
As a self taught computer programmer, systems administrator and entrepreneur (China hotel booking) who learned a significant body of skills through the internet, I feel that 'developed' societies should recognise the internet as a much more powerful tool than a regular classroom scenario for involving students in the learning process.
After all, internet's always there (and these days often on the phone in your pocket!) but your teacher is only there for a few months or years at best.
Perhaps education systems should consider changing their goal from providing formalistic, standardised education towards providing only what education they can provide while maintaining and promoting a child's natural curiosity about the world, and teaching them how to stimulate and satisfy that for themselves using tools that are and will continue to be available to them throughout the rest of their lives.... Internet, Wikipedia, electronic books, discussion forums, etc.

I agree with you Walter. I believe the school systems are so concentrated on solely the act of educating, but fail to understand that children need the inspiration and motivation to learn. I also fully support Obama's plans to modernize schools and provide Internet access to all children.
