Al Bashir and the International Crime Court

I think at first glance it was an important sign of the international community to show that the crisis in Sudan must come to an end.
But Russia and China are preparing already counter measures and it is not by accident that recent reports of chinese weapons and military educations are rising up at this moment.
Weakening the existing regime could lead to a change and maybe to a new distribution of the natural resources of the country.
I think these are the real purposes behind the case Bashir.

While on the one hand it's a good thing that the Sudanese President and his government are finally being condemned for their involvement in the nightmare going on right now in Darfur - these charges have to be followed up by action on the Criminal Court and the UN's part. Which hopefully we'll see happening soon ... because otherwise all they will have succeeded in doing is pissing off a government that is already punishing its own citizens. I'm interested to see what the ICC's next plans are - marching into the capital and arresting a sitting President?

Well, I think that it is more than a farce. There is an intention behind it, but no one can foresee the output.
Of course no one will be able AND willing to march in the name of ICC to arrest Mr. Bashir where he is sitting. It is always the weak who is seeking the protection of laws. Why do you think are the USA no member of the ICC? They think that they are so strong (at the moment) that they do not such an instituton. They are an imperium. An imperium needs not to obey to laws and values, they try to create them.
I think the intention has no humanitarian roots, but the need for resources.

If the ICC were interested only in the resources, Al-Bashir would have been long gone by now. The ICC have a grave decision on their hands: hunt him down and everything might collapse, with worsening effects. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- --

I'd like to echo and expand on what teodor from romania said. The reason al-bashir has yet to be arrested is because the international community is unsure as to whether or not it is the best decision at this time.
the fact is that the priority of the world right now in darfur should be to stop the violence and get sudan back on track to a healthy economy with bringing those at fault to justice as one of the last goals. Now, al-bashir is clearly an unjust man and he deserves punishment for what he is done. but will his arrest do anything to stop the killings in sudan? some say it will even incite the rebels to go on more of a rampage. and god knows that all we need there is a power struggle. so i say, first and foremost we need to fully implement the un/au peacekeeping force before we think about imprisoning someone who may in fact be helping the situation at this point (or at least keeping them from getting any worse)

And Blair for the war crimes he committed in Iraq is now an "envoy" of some sort.
Who gets to decide who should be prosecuted because i think Bush and his partner in crime Blair should also be tried for the crimes aginst the Iraq people and others mostly in developing world.
