children having the right to vote

Every German citizen should have the right to vote in national elections, even those under the age of 18, says a group of parliamentarians. They've proposed a law that would allow parents to vote for their children. (taken from here)
I don't know how this sounds to you, but to me that sounds really absurd. I respect my parents, but I don't have the same opinions as them, so I don't think it is fair that they vote in my place. Having the right to vote at the age of 18 is pretty reasonable, I should say. By that age, a person is supposed to be mature enough to make a sensible choice. What do you think?

Certainly mental capacity and intellectual maturity and mental development is not under the age of eighteen
The opinion of children's right to vote should be the age of eighteen
But we must teach our children before the age of democracy, rights and how to vote

there was some whisper in Australia that children should get half votes that add to the vote of the parent.
since the parents are legal guardians and the children's future are dictated by the adult vote they should have some minor say.
But its only half serious whispers

Am not in Germany .....but hey, children are just that...children.Exposing them to unnecessary battles of society at that tender age is abuse of their rights. To them it would seem that you really care. But it's not. However,am of the opinion that there can be more avenue through which these children can express their own views about the politics of the country.

Children/youth participation is a desireable motion BUT not through their parents.
They should be allowedd to make their own decisions and help shape the future they will spend their lives in.
Voting could be far fetched but we can ind a way to accomodate their views and opinions.
In Zimbabwe we have Child Parliament which is composed totally of secondary school kids and it is in fora like these that they can express their views and have an input in policy formulation. In order not to reduce these foras are not just for siiting and talking the adults-those in corridors of power should listen and implement the views and opinions of the children.

I agree with you." Older" doesn't mean" right". We need children and we need to listen to their saying... It is not only children's right, but also human beings ' right. No one likes people ignore them.
