Involve Children in Decision Making

Its a common practice in Africa for children's views not treated as useful ideas. In schools, children are taught to listen and only speak when told to do so, in homes, children are taught to respect elders and to keep quiet while elders are discussing, In community gatherings, children are not given the chance to voice out their views, and at all levels of decision making, children are totally left out!
I think it is time to listen to children, give them a chance to contribute to the development of their communities and allow them to make personal decisions guided by their elders.
If given the opportunity to speak freely, then children will feel free to report child abuse, and other social crimes against the rights of children.

I also believe childrens view should be given a chance. Children these days are very wise, and have much to share with people around them, but they usually are shut out by he people around them. If we gave these children a voice, they themselves would learn more because they would hear the adults opinons, and become more educated.

I believe anyone should have the right to speak what they want (keeping respect) and to freely talk about things that they feel would make a diffrence or even just to speak for the hell of it,, taking away the liberty of speach is taking away someones identity
Its cruel and should bo stoped.

its all depends on situation, habits, culture, and where they live.
in vilage area, childen shoul obey their parent by following all intructions and losing their right to speak
but...in city area...sometimes we find children who told liek adult people (impolite manner)
for me, of course children should have their right to speak also and we as youth should give them the good examples.
as we know, chilren so easy to imitate adult manners
^_^
