Your thoughts needed!

Hello all,
Just wondering what you would think about a not for profit organisation that would be entirely focused around well being... Taking sport, mentoring and taking the hopes, and dreams of young people with the objective of increasing young peoples general well being in less developed countries???
Would such an organisation be sustainable?? Could this be the role of an NGO? How many NGO's focus on general survival, getting through each day with the basic necessities etc.??
I know this is brief and broad but would love to have some comments?
Take care all,
Hails

Hello,
There is actually a non-governmental organization that exists and utilizes the same ideals and framework you mentioned. It is called Right to Play. http://www.righttoplay.com/
Right To Play is an international humanitarian organization that uses sport and play programs to improve health, develop life skills, and foster peace for children and communities in some of the most disadvantaged areas of the world. Working in both the humanitarian and development context, Right To Play trains local community leaders as Coaches to deliver our programs in more than 20 countries affected by war, poverty, and disease in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.
