yes its right.first the mentality of people should be adapted to fit the polices of food security.every person should realize that u are paying not just to the seller but also to the nature for using its resources.so when u pay its your responsibility to use it qualitatively or in optimistic way.its your natural responsibility and not just the economical responsibility to pay it because you consume it.

People have said about issuing a carbon tax to curb CO2 emissions that it is better to err on the side of safety than to risk the possible results of global warming. That is fine if you are not a third world person on the edge of starvation. Carbon taxes will very likely increase the price of food. For us in the west we can just make small adjustments to our purchasing to compensate the increase in food prices but the impact to the third world is much more severe.
I have not heard this point being raised at all in the media.

I believe that we should keep the food price with in rage of the way people make money so that people will not have to struggle. Most people must struggle day to day to try and get money for food and keep a roof over thier head.

Hike in food prices let many people suffer specially those earning less or below the poverty line. I believe this condition is not particular to any country or contingent. It is a wide spread problem where every country is finding it hard to tackle it.

Rise in food prices has caused issues globally. Developing countries are encouraged to grow crops themselves, but with weather extremes this has proven to be difficult. Violence and riots have resulted in oil and food prices and access. Many countries have also put restrictions on exportation of food causing conflict between countries (UN, n.d.). Overall, the global rise in food prices poses a threat to increasing prevalence of under-nourished peoples. This will make achieving the Millennium Development Goals difficult in reducing poverty, nutrition, child mortality, and maternal health.
