well....i think children should be given equal rights........may be this should be done at an age of around 14, but it should be...because me being a child myself always feel an urge to be given responsibilities....only if i am being given a freedom to take my own decisions...to express my own opinion, will i know what is right and what is wrong. There might be some children who misuse this rights...but that's not only in the case of children...its the same for adults as well..........

Yes, they should. People are people despite color, gender, or age. There should be equal rights for all. I wasnt a child to long ago myself and I had responbilites I had to uphold and I always carried them out sucessfully and very adult like. So if I should have adult like responsiblity and maturity why should I have the same rights!

children is different from adult
so...children rights different from adult
hehehehe

being children means being happy
(because we didnt think a lot of heavy thing)
and its diffirent with being adult (yeah..we should think all by ourselves)

so.if we see chilren thinking like adult...it means they didnt get their rights well

Definitely not! There is a reason why everyone moves from childhood to adulthood.

this question about whether children should have the same rights as adults to much of a black and white question to be answered with yes or no. There are rights that children should have that only adults have and there are rights that children shouldn't have the privilege of having until they reach adulthood. I child is still new to the world, growing, and learning how things should be done. whether that child thinks what he/she is doing is mature or not that is purely psychological. Many children want to be adults therefore most of their actions will reflect their intuition to become adult, even if the actions are not perceived by others as adult like. On the other hand some children just want to be children and if given rights they cannot take seriously they could really do some damage to others. One thing to take into perspective is how old is a "child"?

interesting view .... in my case a child is anyone who depends on another for their basic needs -so am guessing if you cant fend 4 your self you are no longer a child. Some ppl are forced to mature at 13 if they got no one to look after them while others stay home until they are 30!
But 4 me anyone under 18 deserves protection and therefore they should not have the same rights as adults.
