Design revamp for '$100 laptop'
The One Laptop Per Child project has just released info/pictures that a version 2.0 of their XO laptop will be made - see the BBC article above for some pictures.
The project, while it has the best of intentions, has been criticized by people for a failure to execute this dream properly. However, I think that this new iteration should dispel some of the criticisms (although the whole OS debate will probably wage on).
Rather, having the actual machine look like a book will do wonders - all of a sudden, children in the developing world who do not have any concept of computers will be able to relate to the XO2 - it's a picture book, but so much more!
The other benefit to this redesign is that the gauntlet has been thrown down for the for-profit computing world - the original idea of a $100 laptop forced the creation of ultra-light, ultra-cheap versions. Now with a viable book-style format, I hope that we get a flood of alternatives - wherein we all benefit.
Thoughts?

It's good to heard that. it aims to reduce digital divide.
Does it really cost 100$ ?
Are they really available for children in developping countries?
