Yes! I think people assume that sexism no longer exists. But, being a woman I have experienced sexism so I can say first hand that it is still there. However, I also have seen and heard about men also experiencing sexism. Unfortunately, sometimes people of the same gender are the ones contributing to the perpetuation of sexist beliefs.
Nevertheless, I do feel that, at least in the US, there has been great strides in promoting an environment of greater equality. Still, though, there is a long way to go before stereotypes and inequality have disappeared.

Given the recent release of a study on unequality among salaries to men vs women I would say YES, it is a BIG problem. This country has made huge improvements but we only have to look across the ocean and see our sisters being treated pourly.
My sister-in-law was pulled out of school at the age of 14 because it was rumored that she was speaking to a boy after school.
I don't think I need to drag the examples out from under the carpet.

Sexism is a very huge problem, and it can't be ignored. Many people such a politicans continue to tell us we don't have such problems in our society, but they are still there. Just as the example someone gave about salaries among men and women. The biggest corporate postions and CEO's of companies are all held by men or the vast majority of them.

I think in the UK sexism is still a problem but not really a big one. We now have empowered women and a frame work which allows them to excel so we just have to give our society time to level out (for lack of a better phrase) after so many years of sexism
In fact I'd almost go as far as saying that while we can't look away from the issue of sexism we're now at a stage where we can begin to work on trickier and more ingrained issues such as even widely acknowledging the fact that some people's gender isn't male or female
