What is now will be different in the future, but will it improve or it is even worse? Now is the time to make that decision before it's too late.shocked

Our future still has a hope, although new technologies had became wider and global warming has effected dramatically, the new technology can still change the world back to normal, we don't have to worry so much!

Hello there!

Are you and a few other people here in a class in the Czech Republic? This is a very old thread, but I'm glad you are interested in the topic.

I am 52 years old and have lived through some traumatic events. When I was very young, I lived in Vienna, Austria, in 1968-69, yes, right at the time of the crushing of the Prague Spring movement for democracy. It made quite an impression on my young mind. I thought Eastern Europe would be forever condemned to live under the bootheel of the Soviet Union. Well, today the Czech Republic is free and democratic. Some things do change for the better!

No, I agree with you, there are many serious problems in the world today. We adults have made a mess of many things. I think it is very likely that terrorists will someday set off a nuclear bomb in the USA. I hope the world can overcome an atrocity like that without degenerating to the level of anarchy. But in the event we do survive the next few decades, there are some big problems like Peak Oil, Peak Food, Peak Population, Peak Everything that might hit us all at about the same time!

I frankly think life might actually get better as soon as we stop our high-energy consuming lifestyle. Life may slow down to a manageable speed again. People may ride bicycles, grow vegetable gardens, read books, talk to their neighbors, etc., again. What do you think?

I have recently begun reading about the communal movement of the hippies in the 1960s. I think the communal lifestyle has a lot going for it, although my wife disagrees. Are there communes in the Czech Republic?

OUR FUTURE IS IN OUR HAND WE ALL KNOW THIS BUT STILL WE ARE DESTROYING IT I THINK WE DON'T KNOW THIS. WE ALL KNOW ABOUT FOOD CHAIN BUT STILL WE ARE DESROYING SOME PART OF FOOD CHAIN BY KILLING ANIMALS. I THINK THERE IS A SHORTAGE OF VEG FOOF THATS WE (HUMAN BEINGS) KIILING INNOCNET ANIMALS, DESTROYING PRECIOUS FOREST, MAKING RIVERS & OCEANS DIRTY & MAKING OUR ENVIRONMENT VENOMOUS. I THINK IF WE CAN'T MAINTAIN OR DO ANYTHING GOOD FOR OUR HOME I.E., THE EARTH THEN WE SHUOLD BE KEEP QUIET. WE ARE JUST THINKING ABOUT TODAYS LIFE. WE ARE TRYING TO MAKE OURSELF COMFORTABLE BUT WITHOUT THINKING ABOUT OUR FUTURE. IF U ALL THINK I M WRONG THE COMMENT ON THIS BUT I WANT TO TELL 1 THING THE WE ALL IN THIS FORUM ALL INVOLVE IN THIS GLOBAL ISSUE SO I REQUEST U ALL PLZ TAKE CARE OF OUR HOME BCOZ NOT ONLY 1 PERSON CAN'T DO THIS WE HAVE 2 WORK ON THIS ISSUE.
