Racism can and has allteady caused wars even if in not so a large dimension like the 1. Worldwar but one example is the "little" wars between the coonisations states in africa during the imperialism in the 19th century and the indegenous people. The are some examples for insurcenies in this time. But there were nearly all dumpished. Of course that are not really wars but this are fights from the racists against the underdog people.
Generally I think the peopel treating by racism are a so smal group that you can´t talk from a war only from a rebellion.
I hope I could help you

Actually if you included wars incited by ethnic hatred into the broad category of racism; you can pretty tell from historical records that most fatal wars were caused by racism.
The Turkish genocide of Armenians in 1916-1917 was pretty much ethnic-incited.
Hitler's Arian supremacist ideology costed humanity more than 40 million dead during WW II.
The ethnic civil wars between the Hutu and Tutsi tribes in Rwanda and Burundi costed these poor nations between 1 and 2 million dead in 1995.
The Bosnian War (1991-1996), witnessed the heaviest fatalities in Europe since WW II, and was ignited by ethnic friction between Serbs, Croats, and Bosniaks.
Besdies, the whole black slavery trade was greatly enhanced by white supremacist ideas that were pretty inherent during the 1700s and 1800s.
Peace.

I believe that racism does not cause wars, but it fuels them. All the wars in the world can be traced to one thing - resources i.e - land, money, slaves, power, etc. Racism is just used as a cover.
if you stop and think for a moment, most racists/bigots hate other people because they have a certain warped opinion about those people and what they own/ do not own which = resources. it is really hard to find fault in the world if all your needs are being met -think about it.

Quite true Ute,
notice that racism also played a great role in fueling the colonial empires in the Victorian age to conquer less-developed countries under the flag of being a more developed race that would help the less developed races to be civilized. However, it is well understood that colonialism aimed in its essence at the monopoly of the world's natural and strategic wealth.
A literary piece reflecting race-superiority as a reason behind colonizing other nations is the White Man's Burden, by Rudyard Kipling

Yes, it has already caused a war, and a genocide, for example, the genocide in Rwanda.
The Hutu wanted to kill the Tutsis. If that wasn't a racism case, then I don't know.

I believe racism can spark wars.
As people have mentioned before, Rwanda is a good case of how racism can cause problems... many people were killed simply because they were the 'wrong race.'
When people of one race discriminate against another group of a different race, it creates social and even political turmoil.
For example, the island of Fiji has suffered from 4 coups within the last 20 years or so. In Fiji, there's a dispute between the ethnic Indians and the ethnic Fijians, and both groups want power. At one point, the constitution prevented the Indians from gaining seats in the government. They were removed from the Commonwealth and then readmitted when they amended the rules out of their constitution. Fiji suffered from another coup fairly recently, once again related to racism, against the ethnically Indian PM. The leader of the coup wanted to restore rights to ethnic Fijians. The tensions between the Fijians and the Indians have caused many problems for the government.
I think that racism is definitely a problem, but it would be difficult to combat it.
