LOL, then you slept through history classes..
The Spanish inquisition? The Crusades? they burnt people alive !!!
the Klu Klux Klan LOL << 1960s !!! a mere 50 years, in the cradle of supposed morale compass for the world
where have i justified rape? there are barbaric acts everywhere, like juvenile detention without parole.

"rape is rape it occurs everywhere, most places girls dont talk about it due to stigma."
How about simply rape is a disgusting action and it can not be deemed acceptable based on some backwards 7th century cult.
"in islamic countries, it probably wise to keep quiet or move countries,"
Yes wouldn't want women to be stoned or put in prison for being a rape VICTIM.
"PS. you are like a bulldog, when u get ya teeth into something you lose sight of everything else. why is it right for Jewish faith to mutilate boys?"
Don't even bother with such a lame effort. So if the Jewish faith allows for circumcision then somehow rape should be?

Please don't respond with "every religion has produced violence, etc. etc." My oppinion is in the context of now here and now - not the dark ages. I don't know any Catholics burying their women alive, decapitating people, or stoning women to death.
Is what I said

if you are gonna show people the light then you have to act the light.
You dont go around blowing up their neighbour for dubious reasons.
If you act right then other people will follow your example. Its that simple; to think that insignificants like you or I can change 2000 years of islamic customs overnight is naive and foolhardy.
If you do right, others can see and learn, Hopefully. that all you can do,
by the way, circumcision was for health reasons, but its obsolete now, do away with it

Yes certainly - and people are speaking out against it.
Terrible, disgusting actions but why bother speaking out against it? After all its tradition. Right?

That's your problem. Debating as an organized competition is absurd. It's a contest of who is better at finding the facts that support them and covering up the facts that don't. I don't debate for "sport".
I'm very happy you have a village and I would be rather be a clown then some complete idiot. Who just tried to justify RAPE as some form of tradition.
Here in my village - Canadians have long taken human rights for granted, but many around the world have yet to experience them--and that won't change as long as the UN is responsible for the global policing of human rights.
Go back to what ever cave you crawled out of.
I will no longer talk to any human idiot or otherwise who even remotely defends rape in whatever country.

I give you much credit if i said debate. Didnt you say Canadians watered down the UDHR...Canadian Jurist Louise Arbour, former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, is a war criminal for her coverup of assissinations of African leaders.
Western countries have abused their positions thats why everyone else is doing the same !!
and don't put words in my mouth that i support rape!! show me where

Do people like Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the Guantánamo detainee who he beheaded the reporter Daniel Pearl or others like Osama Bin Laden deserve the same way of treatement and a similar punishment with some minor robber, considering that the former might commit (and surely will) more atrocities if judges show themselves indulgent or lenient?
Hayk,
I really didn't expect to hear anything this problematic from you ever. To borrow a phrase from our friend, I should say that this is way below your intelligence. First of all, why someone like Khalid Shaikh Mohammed need to be tortured in order to prevent murder by that person? He is not going to hurt anyone again after being captured.
But there is a bigger problem with your implicit message that torture can be selectively used against certain kind of evil people. Hayk, those people are tortured irregardless of what the Geneva conventions say (let's be practical and realistic). Openly legalizing torture of such people will make things far worse. You are simply being a mouthpiece for both torturing democracies as well as tyrannical governments that torture their own citizens without any moral scruples although your intentions are different.
Who is going to decide that certain group of people are evil enough to deserve torture? According to Donald Rumsfeld, all Guantanamo detainees were "worst of the worst," i.e. all of them like KSM. Accordingly, the Bush Admin's claim that those at Guantanamo did not have any rights is the concept you are supporting here.
As soon as you unleash a genie--that is, state that evil people deserve torture--torturing democracies such as the US and Israel, not least tyrannies, will use that legal limbo to justify their barbaric practices.
Even in the case of KSM, American authorities ended up with a kangaroo court, accusing KSM of an outlandish list of crimes/conspiracies--almost all of them based on testimony obtained through torture.
Let's face it - with all its failings. UDHR have reined in abusers of power, including the Bush Administration, although much greater effects of UDHR remain to be desired.
