It depends on the person. If you're superficial and shallow you'll see them as ugly. It's what's on the inside that counts.

When someone gets to the point of obesity (not overweight or chubby) it is the beginnings of what could turn into morbid obesity, etc. It is difficult to see someone who is like this as beautiful when with obesity comes a whole link of conditions, diseases. I feel saddened sometimes as I see people who are obese due to medical conditions, and people who have eating disorders such as overeating.

Actually there is a huge differences between obesity and over weight. Obesity is itself a disease and over weight is not. So from this i conclude that obese person might not be ugly phenotypically but he/she is internally ugly which is apparent. Try to analyse this...........

I guess it depends on the level of obesity. If its 50 or more pounds above the ideal weight it gets critical, aesthetically speaking as well as health wise. Sure you can do some trickery by clothing right but remove that and the ugliness becomes apparent. Sorry, but there's no way to sugarcoat that. Personally I often feel that obese people hide behind these mottos of "it's the inner beauty that counts". Sure it counts, but how come you can't align inner beauty with outer? Ask that question and you open up a huge can of worms...

I think that there are some obese people that are pretty but most of the obese people in the United States are ugly. I think that it is also true that it doesn't matter what they look like on the outside but their personality and ploiteness that matters.
